Mathey-Tissot UHF Ref. 1631 Vintage Dive Watch with Automatic Wind Movement

Case:

This Mathey Tissot UHF Reference 1631 Ultra High Frequency Has a Solid, Heavy Stainless Steel Screw-Back Case and Screw-Down Crown.  The Lugs are Wide and Reminiscent of the Thick Lug Seamaster Watches from the 1950’s.  The Wide, Flat Bezel Stands Out and Makes You Take Notice, Also.  While the Case Back is Signed Mathey-Tissot, Most of the Detail Has Been Polished or Rubbed Out.  Even so, Under Magnification I can Read Mathey Tissot, 20 Atmos With the Case Reference 1631 Being More Prominent. .

Dial:

Near Mint Condition Original Mathey Tissot UHF Dial With a Darker Almost Black Perimeter Transitioning to a Lighter Faded Olive Green Center.  Similar to the Mergulhador. The Main Rectangle Hour Markers are Tritium and They Have Aged to a Nice Patina.  Inside the Luminous Markers are Contrasting White Painted 24 Hour Numbers.  The Rest  of the Dial Markings are Also White Including Outer Second or Minute Track and the Outline for the 3:00 Quick Set Date Aperture at 3:00.  Also in White, The Dial is Signed Mathey-Tissot, T-Swiss Made-T Indicating Tritium Markers.  The Original Hour and Minute Hands are Silver With Luminous Inserts that Perfectly Match the Dial Lume.  The Original Center Seconds Hand is Orange and Tapers Straight From the Flat Base to the Pointed Tip.

Movement:

Swiss Made, 17 Jewel, ETA Base 2784 (Same as M-T Mergulhador Automatic Wind Movement Signed Mathey-Tissot, Swiss Made.  Recently Cleaned and in Excellent Running Condition..
