Description

Case:

Gold Plated Case with Solid Stainless Steel Screw-Back. Rotating Bezel with Day Abbreviation in Spanish or French. For example, the photo shows the watch is set for Wednesday (M) the 20th. (The abbreviation for Wednesday is MIER in Spanish and MER in French).  The following day would be Thursday (J) the 21st (The abbreviation for Thursday is JUE in Spanish and JEU in French). For a list of abbreviations click here.  The bezel is also marked BTE (short for Brevete) and SGDG. which was a French type of patent that has since expired in 1968. This was a common abbreviation for “Breveté Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement“ (patent without government guarantees). This most likely relates to a patent for the rotating day bezel.  Case Numbered 5901.
